Ann Liang, R.F. Kuang and Kristen Ciccarelli are some authors that I discovered this year and I can not wait to read more of their books in 2026.

Ann Liang has other young adult romance books that I am looking forward to reading, such as I Am Not Jessica Chen and I Hope This Doesn’t Find You series.

I have heard a lot about R.F. Kuang’s The Poppy War trilogy and I hope to read it next year.

Kristen Ciccarelli’s series Iskari sounds interesting and I also hope to read it next year.

I feel like I had a great reading month with 6 reads, and able to finish my August hopefuls.

I loved how the OUABH series ended with A Curse for True Love. Jacks and Evangeline’s story is one that will stay with me for a while. Jacks is the definition of ‘all in’ when it comes to protecting Evangeline and tries his best to stay away from her. However, I love to see his selfish side, too.

I gave Stuck Up and Stupid 3 stars, and it was a good read. It was quick, and I liked the overall plot. However, I think that the mention of heavier topics was just glossed over and could have been discussed more in depth.

I gave Icebreaker 3 stars. This is not my usual romance type of book, but I wanted to see what the hype was about. Anastasia and Nate had good chemistry, and I could appreciate that they seemed to want to work through their problems. I loved that in the end, everything was wrapped up.

Although I was supposed to finish Local Woman Missing for book club next month, I could not help myself and finished it. I was very shocked at the ending since I had a theory in my mind, and it was not what ended up happening. I definitely recommend it for the upcoming Fall season if you enjoy mystery thriller books. However, I would recommend looking up trigger warnings before reading it.

Ann Liang became a favorite author after reading If You Could See the Sun and This Time it’s Real. Both are young adult romance books that have lots of yearning. Although Henry and Alice are my favorite couple, Eliza and Caz’s story is great. They both touch on self-expectations and how they can bear down on you. I really enjoyed reading both of these books and can not wait t read more from her.

If You Could See the Sun by Ann Liang is about a girl who user her new invisibility power to find out her classmates secrets to sell in order to pay for her tuition at an elite international boarding school.

This has been on my tbr for a while, and I am hoping that it is a nice break before I begin the next book for Book Club.
