It's pretty hard (ahem).

Mostly I promote in Bookfunnel promotions, although my erotica stories really aren't a good fit for most of them because my work is not kink-based.

I measure it by any sales I get.

I would add the series to my other regular promotions but I don't want to annoy folks with too many. And it needs to be better targeted.

I need to set up new channels with new accounts just for the erotic stuff - but that's not today.

#eroticMusings Week 37 (February 8-14) Setting Does any of your erotica take place during festivals or cultural celebrations? Why do/don't you include such events in your work?

The second two books in the "Salacious Journal of Winifred Churchill" take place at Christmas and New Year. (The image here is late on New Year's Eve perhaps even past midnight.)

I haven't reached Guy Fawkes Night, Christmas, New Year or Easter in "Veronica's Life" but I will eventually.

In my non-erotica sex scenes are not usually coincident with such things.

#WritersCoffeeClub 1/18. Are you comfortable making a reader uncomfortable? How far will you go?

I cannot control how a reader reacts to anything I write, whether unpleasant or not. I'd only worry if they felt nothing.

I write what's necessary for the story and some of that might be very bad indeed (depending on genre and target audience). However, in general, I do not dwell on the bad stuff.

I have driven at least one reader away - except I happen to know they came back to finish the series eventually.

CW: Female nudity, and implied violence (it's neither torture nor BDSM).

#WritersCoffeeClub 1/14. What’s a service or skill you’d like to offer your fellow writers?

I don't mind answering questions on things about which I know stuff - even things I know nothing about, that's always fun.

I would consider doing 3D renders of characters, I don't have a lot of bandwidth (it can take a while) but I enjoy the process. And it's always good practice.

I don't. I learn about them as I write.

Even for my rare planned stories I don't go into any detail of the MCs beyond what I need to know to outline the events.

For CAT PEOPLE, which is planned out, I had decided the MC, Geeta, was bisexual (not that it was much to do with the main plot) but when I started writing I discovered how much she was in love with her BFF but keeping it a secret so she didn't mess things up.

#WritersCoffeeClub 1/2. Talk about something you’ve retold.

Thought about this a lot and came up with nothing really.

There is one story I finished but then lost (for reasons) which I could retell, but I probably won't. Though its loss annoys me.

I considered re-doing The War of the Worlds as a 3D-rendered comic where the MC is a lesbian accompanied by her "companion", but the more I thought about it the more it became the story of a completely different person with different events, so not strictly a re-telling.

(When you analyse WotW honestly, some of the story-telling is a bit poo.)
