June is a transition month for New England diving with often inconsistent water temperatures and a changeover in critter life. The nudibranchs disappear from shallow shore diving sites and are replaced by small fish. I managed four dives on Cape Ann and one at Peirce Island in New Hampshire and found lots of lovely photography subjects.

Here's my recap: https://blog.briangweber.com/2025-june-dives/

Bonus #BugOfTheDay – a forest bug or red-legged shield bug (Pentatoma rufipes), unfortunately deceased before I found it.

At least now it will be immortalised on the interwebs 😬🤷‍♂️

As seen atop the Königstuhl this afternoon.

Bees have eye hairs that shield them from pollen. The image was captured with my Canon EOS 6D Mark II, Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro Lens, and Raynox DCR-250 (2.5x macro).
