Being annoyed by ActivityMonitor and not finding a proper Process Explorer for macOS I decided to build one myself: https://devmil.de/Yggdrasil
It is a simple process explorer that stops jumping items on mouse hover and allows you to focus on subtrees.
If you are in need of a process explorer on macOS then give it a try. It now does what I needed but I'm happy for any input. Issues or feature requests, doesn't matter.

Well, I have one more gambit to try on the Macbook Pro 2009 before it goes to e-waste. I'll kinda kill me having spent money on upgrades for it but .. Here's hoping :)

Gonna install MacOS X 10.15 - El Capitan. It's new enough that it should run more modern browsers, but hopefully old enough to not run like 💩 on the machine.

I still positively adore the keybaord and display on this thing. If Apple still made their laptop keyboards like this, I'd still be guzzling that kool-aid.

Hey Retro Fans!

Many believe that old architecture eventually just becomes useless for the modern web. But our bouncer fished a browser out of the FrogFind pond today that proves the exact opposite:

PowerFox 128.0 on Mac OS X (PowerPC)!

For those who might not know: PowerFox (similar to TenFourFox or InterWebPPC) is a passionate community project. It's based on modern Mozilla engines but is painstakingly ported, tweaked, and compiled to run on old PowerPC processors (like the G4 or G5). Seeing a version number like "128.0" on a PowerPC is almost paradoxical—it's an attempt to squeeze current web standards onto hardware that Apple buried almost 20 years ago.

The fact that someone takes the time to boot up a G4 Mac, compile (or install) PowerFox, and use it to browse FrogFind is a wonderful sign of how dedicated the retro Mac community is.

Letterboxx TestFlight build 1.0 (4) is out, fresh on the heels of tonight’s earlier (3) release.

👨🏼‍🔧 Fixed: newsletter-list regressions after the last build — native Mac row swipes are back, and an AppKit table crash around row height / row view handling should be resolved.

✅ Kept: custom newsletter folders, IMAP folder picker, and cancellable provider picker from the Accounts update.

The old HD just doesn’t want to boot into Mac OS X any longer, so I’m “stuck” in System 9.2.2.
