Why do I feel like one of those automotive YouTubers who have just pulled a car out of a paddock and found a family of possums living in it?

This Mac II is from the same job lot that the other Mac II that I have worked on came out of. However this one has been badly treated.

Thankfully the inside of it look good, no battery bomb and no surface mount caps like some revisions of this logic board.

It is missing the SCSI cable, so I don't know if the HDD is working or not. Next weekend this will being getting stripped down, given a very thorough clean and I will pull apart the PSU for the RIFA cap.

OpenSCAD modeling of the Mac Portable battery plate

I spent the last couple of days at the Train and Hobby Show at Sandown Raceway in Melbourne.
My particular table's theme was the Apple Snow White design language, used on a range of Apple computers and peripherals from the mid 80s to the start of the 90s. Got some good interest from people visiting the table, even got a 6 year old girl addicted to Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego on the Macintosh SE.
Nothing crashed, let out smoke or just refused to work. Good weekend in all.
And I may be appearing in a brief interview on YouTube soon 👀

After having a horrid week, it was nice to get to the weekend and actually get things working instead of smoking.
I removed the original 3v barrel batteries from the Mac II and replaced them with CR2032 in remote cases which I will stick somewhere inside the case.
The Mac II boots fine, no need to "jumpstart" it. I connected the SCSI HDD but something on the drive went pop so no go there.
I connected an external BlueSCSI to it, found it had 2MB RAM, so I upgraded it to 8MB.
I'll look at running System 7.1 on it with some applications to show off at the Train and Hobby show next month
