Soderle. Über Ostern war ich im Erzgebirge und konnte den dortigen, ziemlich finsteren Himmel nutzen und zwei Mal Belichtungszeit für Messier 81 (und nebenher Messier 82) zu sammeln. Ich beschloss, dass das auch eine gute Gelegenheit sei mal die Spikemaske in Frage zu stellen. Ich finde die Sternabbildungen „mit Zacken“ da schon schick. Vor allem bei den hellsten Sternen im Bild. Aber bei den durchschnittlich großen Sternen und den kleinen, da stören sie mich mitunter. Ich experimentierte dann mit mehreren Belichtungen ohne und einer mit Maske sowie umgekehrt in den letzten Monaten. Im Ergebnis gibt es keinen Mittelweg wie es scheint. Sobald eine Session mit Spikes mit gestackt wird, hat das Endresultat auch überall Spikes (nicht nur bei den hellsten Objekten wie erhofft). Bei mehreren Sessions mit Spikes muss wiederum die Maske jeden Tag exakt gleich ausgerichtet sein - sonst siehts doof aus.

Jedenfalls ist Bikd 1 das Ergebnis von 7h 41 Minuten Belichtung aus zwei Nächten - eine mit Spokemaske, eine ohne. Bild 2 besteht aus 3h 34 Minuten ohne Maske. Natürlich sind die Galaxien in Bild 1 dadurch detailreicher, aber darum geht es nicht. Ich habe für mich (mal wieder ein Learning) beschlossen, dass ich gerade bei Galaxien mit der Spikemaske etwas sparsamer umgehen werde. Bei Nebeln wird sie aber weiter zum Einsatz kommen, weil da finde ich das schon sehr cool, wenn da ein heller Stern mit ordentlichen Spikes dem Bild noch einen Kick gibt. Bei Galaxien hat sich heraus gestellt, dass ich da keine Ablenkungen brauche und eher die natürlichen Sternformen ästhetisch finde.

Mal schauen, wie lange das anhält. 😄
