The Pinwheel Galaxy (M101) is a face-on spiral galaxy located 21 million ly away in Ursa Major.

Beyond its striking appearance, M101 is home to over 1,200 catalogued star-forming regions, an ultra-luminous X-ray binary system and around 150 globular clusters.
