Regarding that boost about #methane sources in #Chile, this global map may have outdated data but gives some idea about the problem:

Responsible for 30% of global warming since the Industrial Revolution, methane remains a key driver of the climate crisis. Despite this, banks continue to overlook the methane generated by some of the world's biggest emitters: agri-food companies.
On éviterait 20 % des émissions de méthane si on n'élevait plus de bovins.
Une nouvelle étude utilise l'inférence causale pour démontrer l'impact d'une telle politique publique : https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.19019693

New study uses causal inference to demonstrate that we would avoid 20 % methane emissions if one commodity was replaced.
I have just published a preprint article at https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.19019693

New study uses causal analysis to demonstrate big reductions in carbon emissions if fewer bovines.
In ten years, methane emissions from all activities if bovine stop would be 80 % of methane emissions from all activities if no intervention.
Results and causation are presented at https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.19019693

Lack of phosphates cause methane to be produced... this seems a rabbit hole to get lost in, because I don't want to believe sprinkling phosphates in parts of the ocean is an answer. That could create new problems.
