Non si ferma il maxi incendio partito nei giorni scorsi sul monte Faeta, provincia di Lucca, che ha raggiunto anche il versante pisano, minacciando Asciano, frazione del comune di San Giuliano Terme (Pisa). Nella notte tra giovedì e venerdì 1 maggio sono state evacuate oltre 3mila persone “in via precauzionale” a causa del “forte vento”, come ha spiegato il presidente della Regione Toscana, Eugenio Giani.
Nel frattempo le squadre di terra di vigili del fuoco e volontari di protezione civile hanno continuato a fronteggiare il fuoco: al pomeriggio di oggi, il perimetro del rogo sul Monte Faeta risulta attualmente contenuto per circa il 70%, con l’obiettivo di arrivare a contenerlo interamente nel corso della nottata e nella giornata di sabato 2 maggio. Lo rende noto la Regione Toscana, spiegando anche che a seguito degli ulteriori rilievi effettuati dai tecnici antincendi boschivi la stima della superficie percorsa dal fuoco è stata aggiornata a circa 710 ettari.
Particolare attenzione è rivolta alle numerose aree interne al perimetro già interessato dal fuoco che risultano non bruciate o solo parzialmente percorse: si tratta di zone che possono riattivarsi con fronti anche intensi, generando nuove colonne di fumo e possibili salti di fuoco all’esterno del perimetro. Per sabato è previsto un cambio di vento con rotazione a nord-ovest che, se confermato, potrebbe determinare nuove criticità.

The massive fire that started several days ago on Mount Faeta, in the province of Lucca, has also reached the Pisano side, threatening Asciano, a fraction of the municipality of San Giuliano Terme (Pisa). Overnight from Thursday to Friday, May 1st, over 3,000 people were evacuated “as a precaution” due to the “strong wind,” as explained by the President of the Tuscany Region, Eugenio Giani.
Meanwhile, firefighting teams and civil protection volunteers continued to confront the fire: this afternoon, the perimeter of the fire on Mount Faeta is currently contained at approximately 70%, with the goal of completely containing it during the night and Saturday, May 2nd. This is announced by the Tuscany Region, which also explains that following further surveys by forest fire technicians, the estimated area affected by the fire has been updated to approximately 710 hectares.
Particular attention is being paid to the numerous areas inside the perimeter already affected by the fire that have not been burned or only partially traversed: these are zones that could reactivate with fronts, even intense, generating new smoke columns and possible fire jumps outside the perimeter. Wind change is expected for Saturday with rotation to the northwest, which, if confirmed, could determine new critical situations.

AGI - Non è ancora stato domato l' incendio sul monte Faeta, nel nord della Toscana, alimentato dal forte vento che soffia sulla zona tra la provincia di Lucca a Santa Maria del Giudice e la provincia di Pisa, nei comuni di San Giuliano Terme e Asciano.
In tre giorni le fiamme hanno già divorato oltre 800 ettari di bosco e sono state evacuate 3500 persone tra cui gli abitanti di Asciano, frazione del comune di San Giuliano Terme.
Lavoro delle squadre a terra
Squadre di terra di vigili del fuoco e volontari di protezione civile hanno fronteggiato l' incendio per tutta la notte tra sabato e domenica anche con l'ausilio dei droni dotati di termocamera per il monitoraggio dei focolai.
Mezzi e forze impegnate nell'incendio
Attualmente operano sul versante di Asciano 48 vigili del fuoco con 19 mezzi fra autobotti, jeep e veicoli logistici e a supporto, soprattutto delle operazioni di evacuazione, anche alcune squadre di esercito, carabinieri, guardia di finanza e polizia di Stato.
Interventi aerei
Per domare l' incendio, dalle 7 sono ricominciati anche gli interventi dal cielo con un elicottero arrivato da Firenze e tre Canadair partiti da Roma e Genova.
Assistenza alla popolazione
È stato attivato anche il sistema di protezione civile e sanitario per supporto ai cittadini e ai fragili nelle evacuazioni, con cucina da campo e assistenza.
Viabilità e chiusure
A causa dell'incendio boschivo, Anas ha chiuso al traffico in via precauzionale un tratto di circa 1,5 km sulla statale 12 Radd "dell'Abetone e del Brennero" a San Giuliano Terme (Pisa). Lungo il tratto interdetto al transito si trova la galleria Monti Pisani.

Roads and Closures
Due to the forest fire, Anas has, as a precaution, closed a stretch of approximately 1.5 km of the SS12 Radd "dell'Abetone e del Brennero" highway in San Giuliano Terme (Pisa). The Monti Pisani tunnel is located on this closed section to traffic.
