Ugh. Been playing around with a Stoneblock mod for #Mineclonia in #Luanti which replaces all unoccupied air blocks with stone except an 11x11x7 room you spawn in. It's intriguing and allows for some interesting stuff, but I've found that it's near-impossible to get water.

Apparently water generates *after* air? So it's all stone too. Also wandering traders seem to never spawn, so I can't go that route either. I get rainfall effect if I mine up enough blocks, but it doesn't fill cauldrons.

NO11's randomizer is a luanti mod that shuffles the block generation of your world around. Works with every minecraft like game I've tossed at it but be careful enabling mods with unmineable blocks like zombies4test or you might find your stone randomized to them!

@Luanti apparently I've been living under a rock because I didn't know that #Minetest is now #Luanti.

I remember when I was a wee lad digging straight down for who knows how long because the ores were so deep!

Logging into servers and settling into some remote cave like a hermit too lmao... good times.

...damn now I want to see if any of those servers are still up. It's been so long I don't even remember the server names now.

We are looking into the possibility of creating a #Luanti for Edu/Kids edition which would be a new app on the play store and a new download from luanti.org. It will (1) provide tools for parents/teachers to manage kids (2) achieve a lower age rating, aiming for age 6.

We're looking to get in touch with someone who know about age ratings and our obligations. Perhaps someone from #IARC/#USK/another board who also knows about open source. Does anyone have any connections we could talk to?

I do sometimes watch videos or streams of people playing on other peoples' Luanti or (ew, Microsoft!) Minecraft servers. And it's cute, I like some of the projects.

I have played on servers, it can be fun as a short time activity.

But the idea of putting up with other people in my world, where I make stuff? Having to care about rules or other peoples' territory? Fuck that right into the blocky Sun above the build limit.
