Afternoon run
I had to be in Cumbria to take the OAM to an GP appointment, she would normally take herself but the roads are difficult. Anyway a bonus when we got back, icy day but lovely, sometimes track run to Shap Abbey. 18k, 1/3 track and 2/3 road, just as well I left my spikes here last week.

Lowther Plantation near Cleator is a large area of woodland that has a great mix of forest road and woodland paths.
Although planted for forestry there is a decent mix of trees and plenty of wandering paths among the trees themselves.
The ability to amble among the trees makes this a favourite place of ours for a walk, and it is very popular with dog walkers and cyclists.
