I've been working on a sort of hand quilting #upcycle project. I've got this pair of pants that are stretched out and the seams coming undone (they are second hand low quality fast fashion made of thin jersey blend fabric), so already well beyond their intended lifespan). I mostly like the fit of them though and I've been wanting to practice #quilting and #slowstitching. #sewing #fiberarts #crafting
part of this is also having been influenced by watching #nobuy/#lowbuy youtube videos recently and thus wanting to reclaim what would otherwise be trash. sewing down the whole of each piece of fabric like this (rather than say, just the edges) by hand is slow going lol

I stopped buying clothes in April 2013 after the Bangladesh Factory collapse.

Dang! Almost 12 years.

Mistakes were made! I did buy 3 garments in that time. But I did my best.

Eine sehr gute Technik für den #Minimalismus- #LowBuy-Einstieg: Wünsche aufschreiben. Wunschzettel nach einiger Zeit zur Hand nehmen und kaufen, was dann noch aktuell ist. Geht auch super mit Kindern. Das #Kind (6) vergoss vor ca. 2 Wochen Sehnsuchtstränen nach ... lest selbst. Heute reichte ich ihm den Zettel, der seither auf der Fensterbank lag. Es hatte ihn vergessen, las stirnrunzelnd, lächelte dann und sagte: "Nein, brauch ich nicht mehr."
So wichtige Selbsterfahrung... 💚
