Ich muss einfach mal loswerden, dass ich mich bisher auf keiner Social Media Plattform so wohl gefühlt hab, wie hier. Hier fühlt es sich wenig synthetisch an, es gibt viel mehr Interaktion und viel weniger Selbstdarsteller.

With all the crazy in the world — and especially social media — let me just give a moment of thanks for the existence of Mastodon and the Fediverse and you wonderful people. This continues to remain a calmer, cozier park in the middle of the crazy and I absolutely appreciate it.

And yes, it harks back to The Early Days of the Internet, which — shitty connectivity and processing power aside — was fun, encouraging, exciting, supportive, and delightful.

In my previous toot, Mastodon kept offering me #MayAllYourDoughnutsTurnOutLikeFannies whenever I typed “may” after the hashtag symbol. As far as I can tell, that hashtag has been used a grand total of one time, on Christmas in 2022. And yet it was So Sure that that was where I was going that it repeatedly suggested it. As a creator of ridiculous orphan hashtags myself, I appreciate these efforts.

It took me a little bit to figure things out here, but I genuinely love Mastodon.
