The juxtaposition of history and modern day is, to me, the starkest here at the Tower of London where glass skyscrapers are merely the backdrop to historic buildings. A reminder, perhaps, that we where we are today only can come on top of who we used to be and how we use this knowledge to move forwards.

And yet, the now seems to stand taller and prouder than the past. Standing on the shoulders of giants? Perhaps.
