It's apparently World Localization Day, and I've made the wise choice to stay up very late to attend the first session of New Economy Network of Australia's Post-Growth Futures Week on building local futures through transition and regrowth. Amazing discussion on the need to imagine the lives we actually want to live, connect with others, and create a world that allows all to thrive.

I'm looking forward to the rest of the week! (And to watching the recording of this session to catch all the stuff I missed -- central standard time is just a wee bit behind Australian eastern standard time...)

About two years in the making, I'm very happy my initial proposal to donate to Weblate paid off. Now the hard part will come over summer: dropping md2po, pulling those markdown files directly into Weblate, and updating our Weblate configuration. Ideally, without losing translation history ^^ #Weblate #localisation

#TIL that there is at least one English translation of "Der Wolf und die sieben Geißlein" as "The Wolf and the Seven Goslings" - changing young goats to young geese.

It seemed like just a weird goof at first, but I guess it's a sensible localisation if your language calls both young goats and young humans "kids".

I translated the free and open source #Minecraft mod **Autowork** to German!

Autowork expands the automation capabilities of the base game, adding a wide variety of utilities to enable you to build all kinds of contraptions. What makes it stand out from most other technology mods is its simplicity: it very much adheres to the 'vanilla' style of automation, works with Redstone, does not add any new energy systems, complex HUDs or world generation. It's simply a do-it-yourself toolkit similar to the base-game autocrafter.

And that's exactly what I loved about it; enough to contribute a volunteer #translation to the mod. :)
