G.I. Bride statue in Partick Station in Glasgow. Appearing in Bud Neill's Lobey Dosser comic strip, she represents the Scottish women who married American soldiers during WWII, only to find their American dream was not all they hoped it would be. As in this statue by Ranald Maccoll, she's usually seen trying to hitchhike back to her home in Pertick.

The Lobey Dosser statue on Woodlands Road in Glasgow has been given the Duke of Wellington treatment, but given its height, it's not nearly as impressive a feat!

I said hello to Lobey Dosser, El Fideldo and Rank Bajin when I was in Glasgow today. Always makes me smile to see the statue of Bud Neill’s Sheriff of Calton Creek immortalised in bronze.
