Anyone who knows me, knows exactly how attached I am to #LinuxMint (LMDE) @linuxmint .

I've been using LinuxMint since version 4.0 and #LMDE since version 2.0, and I've always been extremely satisfied.

Currently, however, a veritable "revolution" is taking place on my computer.

Why? I've discovered #MXLinux @mxlinux in its various flavors, and I have to say I'm thrilled. The ease of use, speed, and usability are phenomenal. Even my almost 15-year-old Packard Bell netbook runs stably and smoothly with it.

Sorry, Clément Lefèbvre, but it seems I've discovered a new "favorite Linux" after many years.

My primary desktop will probably not be updated to LMDE 7 anytime soon; instead, I'll take the opportunity to migrate it to MXLinux as well.

Just to be clear, I'm not turning my back on LinuxMint/LMDE because something isn't quite right! I'm switching because I've found a distribution that makes my daily work even easier and that I'm really impressed with.

Despite everything, LinuxMint remains my top recommendation when it comes to suggesting a distribution to someone switching from Windows.

Therefore, with mixed feelings, I say thank you to Clement and his team for the great work you do. I have really enjoyed working with LMDE, but perhaps now is the time to "discover new worlds."

I just found out that #decibelLinux AKA #Gentoo Studio exists.

Apparently it's been around for a while. They recommed using #SystemRescueCD to install which is a little funky but, not surprizing in the slightest. lol

Today I spent transferring files off my old #laptop b/c I realized that it wasn't using the ancient dedicated GPU & I messed up installing the drivers like a n00b. So, now I'm going to try out some new OSes. See what I can get installed & run RAID 0.

Other contenders are:
• #AVLinuxMX, #EnlightenmentDE & #MokshaDE versions
• #LMDE which'll make a solid fallback b/c I am most familiar w/ #Debian based distros.

Después de la odisea de openSUSE Tumbleweed, los temas rotos de KDE Plasma 6 y las 2 de la mañana peleando con dependencias, instalaciones de drivers Nvidia que después tenía que downgradear.... Y otros

Me doy cuenta de que me he vuelto viejo y comodón... Estaba muy agusto en Pop_os con cosmic, iba fino, estable y potente, pero necesito una alternativa no "Ubuntu based" así que...Voy a probar Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE).

No Leap. No Tumbleweed. No Ubuntu based.

Debian Stable, pero con la cara amable de Mint.
