#phoc gained support for the xx-cutouts-v1 Wayland protocol to inform clients about display cutouts and notches. Below screenshots shoes our video player #livi using that information to keep the video out of the cutout area:

One thing bothering us when playing videos with our little, mobile friendly video player #livi was that playing from video sites like #peeretube or #youtube showed very little information in #phosh's media player widget. This is now fixed on Livi's main branch where it fetches the necessary bits from #ytdlp to display a thumbnail and artist information making it a better companion to the pipeline app too.
We've improved a bunch of other things like faster seeking as well.

It mostly happened because I forgot to update the metainfo for 0.3.0 (which makes us look outdated on #flathub) 🤦♂️ . But there's one change still: livi now supports surface suspend so saves CPU cycles when the window is occluded (if the Wayland compositor supports it (#phosh will support that from 0.45. onwards).

came up in #Wayland protocols I though that it could be nicely used to stop the video stream (while keeping audio going) in this little video player I care about (#livi). Can't join #GUADEC (https://events.gnome.org/event/209/) this year but at least I can watch the live stream on a 📱 running a #gtk based shell (#phosh) and lots of #gnome components with a video player using GTK and #gstreamer (#livi). Life could be worse.

We've tagged version 0.2.0 of #livi (a small video player for #LinuxMobile) a couple of days ago and @rmader updated it on #flathub also bumping #gstreamer to 1.24.4 improving #h256 and #vp9 support.
Version 0.1.0 of mobile Linux video player, LiVi released which can continue playing videos from last position, file chooser lists mkv files etc.:
