Sind Bootlegs noch ein Thema? Heutzutage gibt es ja von nahezu jedem Konzert kurze oder auch längere Handyvideos bei Youtube zu finden. Das gab es vor dem Internet natürlich noch nicht und unauthorisierte Konzertmitschnitte wurden auf Musikkassetten verkauft oder getauscht. Manche Aufnahmen wurden sogar auf Vinyl gepreßt und unter dem Ladentisch verkauft. So wie das Doppelalbum „Decadence“, das ich mal auf einem Flohmarkt erstanden habe. Darauf finden sich Liveaufnahmen von verschiedenen New Order-Konzerten aus dem Jahr 1989 sowie ein Remix und ein Soundcheck-Mitschnitt aus dem Jahr 1981 mit Liedern von Joy Division.

Es beginnt mit einem Konzert vom 27.04.1989 aus dem Universal Amphitheatre in Universal City (Los Angeles, Kalifornien). Diese Konzert füllt die ersten drei Seiten des Albums mit den Songs „Dream Attack“, „Ceremony“, „All The Way“, „True Faith“, „Mr. Disco“, „Every Little Counts“ (alle Seite A), „Vanishing Point“, „1963“, „Round & Round“, „Temptation“, „Bizarre Love Triangle“ (alle Seite B), „Perfect Kiss“, „Blue Monday“ und „Fine Time“. Seite C schließt mit „Your Silent Face“, aufgenommen einen Tag später am gleichen Ort, das hatten sie am Vortag nämlich nicht gespielt.

Die Seite D beeinhaltet „Touched By The Hand Of God“ (National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, 26.03.1989), „Love Less“ (Southern Star Amphiteatre, Atlanta, 15.04.1989), „Face Up“ (Saenger Theatre, New Orleans, 16.04.1989) sowie den „Razormaid-Mix“ von „5 8 6“. Den Abschluss bildet der Soundcheck vom 09.02.1981 (Heaven, London) mit den Joy Division-Songs „Walked In Line“, „No Love Lost“, „Digital“, „Decades“ und „Atmosphere“, die jeweils instrumental angespielt werden.

Die Musikauswahl ist ja schon mal nicht schlecht, kommen wir nun zum wichtigsten Punkt, der Soundqualität. Ich sag mal so, ich habe schon schlechtere Bootlegs gehört. Es ist eine Publikumsaufnahme und die Fans sind deutlich zu hören. Die Musik kommt auch gut rüber, der Gesang von Barney hatte damals deutliche Schwächen. Als Fan bin ich allerdings begeistert, ich habe New Order selbst 4 Jahre später auf der Loreley gesehen.

Die 1989er Konzerte fanden im Rahmen der Technique-Tour statt, daher stammen die meisten Songs von diesem Album (nur „Run“ und „Guilty Partner“ fehlten) und auch das Cover des Bootlegs ist an das Design von Peter Saville angelehnt, nur dass die Engelsstatue gespiegelt und ein weißer Hintergrund verwendet wurde.

Bravo! Brubeck! is a 1967 live album by Dave Brubeck and his quartet, recorded during their tour of Mexico. The quartet were augmented by Chamin Correa on guitar, and the bongo and conga player Salvador Agüero (Rabito). It was released in 1967.

The album was reviewed by Scott Yanow at Allmusic who wrote that "One of the better Dave Brubeck LPs from the later period of the Quartet with altoist Paul Desmond, this set is unusual in that it only contains one Brubeck original. ...The results are melodic but swinging treatments of a variety of famous themes" - Wikipedia
