MIST0725/LITTLEBITSPACE-KING

Mistigram: the King of the Jungle here was drawn in #PETSCII characters by @littlebitspace, and was included in the new cat-themed MIST0725 artpack collection. (Q: What’s a #lion’s favorite compression format? A: Rar!)

MIST0725/LITTLEBITSPACE-CAT_CAT

Mistigram: in unixlikes, the command ‘cat’ outputs the contents of a file to the screen. In this case the file was a (#PETSCII) #ASCIIart illustration of a cat, so the artist @littlebitspace needed to ‘cat cat’. This recursive piece was included in the new cat-themed MIST0725 artpack.

MIST0625/LITTLEBITSPACE-CASTLEHEAD

Mistigram: you may recall our sharing of @littlebitspace’s “Castle Kit” font a bit over a week ago. As it turns out, castles are not the only thing you can draw in #textmode with its collection of remapped #PETSCII glyphs, and I rather suspect that drawing a #skull is the artist’s personal “Hello World” for any new creative environment. From the recent unthemed MIST0625 artpack collection, we give you: Castlehead.

MIST0625/LITTLEBITSPACE-PANGRAM

Mistigram: when most artists design a logo, they don’t design every single letterform in the alphabet. Here @littlebitspace demonstrates a #pangram, a phrase intended to demonstrate all the letters. This piece was included in the new unthemed MIST0625 artpack collection.

IMBIBE01/LITTLEBITSPACE-TEA_IS_ETERNAL

Mistigram: in all the beverage discourse this week, we have overlooked one of the all-time classics. @littlebitspace represents here again with this bird’s eye #asciiart representation of a Japanese #tea ceremony service. This piece, titled “Tea Is Eternal”, was included in the recent food-themed IMBIBE01 electronic magazine.

IMBIBE01/LITTLEBITSPACE-TEA_SPILL

Mistigram: there’s not much hot gossip in the recent food-themed IMBIBE01 electronic magazine, but nevertheless there @littlebitspace was, spilling the #tea, #ASCIIart style. Truly a scene to make Arthur Dent cry.

LITTLEBITSPACE_OBLIVION

Mistigram: and since we’re looking at #Oblivion today, here’s a #Daedric letter O, a symbol of Conjuration, drawn by @littlebitspace as #ASCIIart four years ago, representing the Oblivion Gates. We never got around to including it in an artpack (we really should release more videogames-themed collections!) but lbs was definitely ahead of his time in appreciating this janky old game like a fine wine.

IMBIBE01/LITTLEBITSPACE-CHA

Mistigram: before he mastered #ASCIIart, another niche field in which @littlebitspace had steeped was the world of #tea infusion and service. This piece from his back catalogue represents an overlap of both worlds, yet despite its relative vintage (only four years old!) it is still relatively fresh relatively to the materials from the ’90s which it was served up alongside in the time capsule of the new IMBIBE01 electronic magazine about food and drink.

MIST-30/LITTLEBITSPACE-MISTFUNK

Mistigram: we’ve never released a .WAD, but in the wake of “DOOM: The Gallery Experience” perhaps we should try our hand at it. In the meantime, here’s a stone cold #ASCIIart / #blockASCII Mistfunk logo drawn by @littlebitspace and used as an infofile header in the recent MIST-30 celebration artpack.

ADVENT23/25_DEC23

Mistigram: for this date in last year’s ADVENT23 #AdventCalendar, @littlebitspace drew a magnificent and chilling #blockASCII portrait of the late Jolly Old St. Nick, apparently reduced to nowt but bones and beard following his magical night’s impossible exertions.
