The county’s Broadwater Formation dates back to the Pliocene, and includes the Lisco Camel Quarry which has yielded the extinct genus Camelops from the Pleistocene epoch. Morrill Hall at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln features a display of a full Camelops skeleton. The museum also houses the University of Nebraska Elephant Hall
