AFIAK, SFC have the only #FOSS conference in existence that criticizes sponsors for their bad behavior each day in the opening remarks.
When was the last time #LinuxFoundation admitted publicly that their giant list of event sponsors are often bad actors? 2012, I think?
Some companies won't sponsors SFC events b/c they don't want to be criticized like this. #SFC's integrity is not for sale; if you buy ☕∀ our attendees, you gotta live with public-stated list of grievances.

Besonders wenn die kleinen Familienunternehmen wie

- Microsoft
- IBM
- AWS
und viele andere sich das vom Munde abgespart haben.
Wohltätigkeit, denn dieses Linux-Ding nutzt denen ja direkt nichts.
Ist ja nicht so, dass deren Clouds und Produkte vollgestopft mit Opensource-Code sind.
Da kann man schon "großzügig" sein.
Immerhin gibt die LF 180 Mio $ für "Project Support" aus.
Was immer das heißt.
Die direkte Bezahlung wie bei Torvalds und Kroah-Hartman ist es sehr selten.
Emotionaler Support?
An den Ausgaben kann ich höchstens 16 Mio $ für Events kritisieren.
Für mich sind die Einnahmen das große Problem.

Project Communities and about 2% of it are #LinuxKernel related.
It categorizes about 8,4 out or 285 Million US-Dollar expenses to the "Linux Kernel Project".
As 2025 comes to a close, we are celebrating the people and projects advancing open collaboration.
