I may switch my company's computers from Kubuntu over to Rocky Linux... over time of course. Tell me if that's a bad idea! DaVinci Resolve Studio is the single most important application we use and every other application supports Rocky fine or is a Flatpak. I would love to hear other's takes!

I just upgraded to Kubuntu 24.04 and this is the hardest time I've had installing Resolve Studio since Ubuntu 18.04 days! It's been so easy until now!! Just double click the .run file, install a couple dependencies and go! Clearly something is a good bit different since 22.04 for Resolve. I kinda regret upgrading! I really wish Blackmagic would just support Ubuntu systems or go Flatpak! Everyone would be so happy about that!!

If you use AppImages, you need to check out GearLever... which ironically is a Flatpak😂 It makes "installing" and managing AppImages so easy and a much better experience!
