Lingonberries in their prime. Not much to add there. These I sampled at Kårböle on our way to Kiruna a month ago. Nobody's ever heard of Kårböle, but it's one of those places that I really love. Not because I hang out there a lot, but because it's places like these that actually make up my country. It's easy to get the impression that nothing outside of the few city sprawls matter, but to me, it's the other way around. It's in all the vast space in between those densely populated specks that life can happen in its own time. This is where you can breathe. This is where you have time to stop and smell the lingonberries. Heck -- this is where there ARE lingonberries to stop and smell.
