I broke in my new Pop!_OS install by using it to flash #LineageOS on my #RazerEdge!

I ran into some hurdles along the way, seemingly because the USB-C port on my Edge is faulty, but I persevered!

I really need to stop messing with my devices and work on my large list of home improvement projects, and I think I’m just about ready to do that.

I would like to get #Bazzite on my SFF HP ProDesk at some point since it’s in the living room and it has a GTX 1650, which I recently learned can utilize Steam Gaming Mode unlike my GTX 1080. However, I need to make sure it can run Minecraft mods for my kids.

I do think I can hold off on that until Windows 10 support is officially over.

C'est ma solution (remplacer l'Android commercial par /e/OS #eos ou #LineageOS ), mais j'imagine qu'elle ne peut (malheureusement) pas convenir à tout le monde…

Est-ce que la section des paramètres concernant les autorisations des applications pourrait encore contenir des autorisations dédiées à Gemini et qui pourraient être enlevées ?

Grundsätzlich stimme ich ja zu. Aber solange wir das Pferd vom falschen Ende aufzäumen, solange läuft da was gewaltig schief. Die meisten "alten" #Smartphones würden auch mit aktuellen Versionen der Betriebssysteme laufen, so wie sie es ja beispielsweise auch bei #LineageOS tun.
Nur bekommt man vom Hersteller eben diese Updates nicht.

Also brauchen wir, neben dem #RechtaufReparatur auch ein #RechtaufSoftwareUpdates gerade bei Betriebssystemen.

@billgoats They're nowhere that cheap here in #Canada. I have a #lineageOS phone, with #FDroid and Librera. That's my "Kindle".

Yes, this was the answer! I installed the "Sunup" app, which is a Unified Push provider that uses Mozilla's servers.

Then I told Firefox to use UnifiedPush. It restarted the app.

Then Sunup showed that Firefox and, specificaly, Mastodon's ServiceWorker had subscribed to its UnifiedPush distributions.

Then I voted on a @fediplayssnake poll, and when it was closed, my phone dinged! Thank you!

I have an android question. Search has failed me.

I'm using lineageOS. I've got MicroG, and it's running the push notifications service. I'm getting push notifications from apps like discord and slack.

But Firefox (Fennec F-droid) will not register with the push notifications service. I can see the list of registered apps, and Fennec is not on there. I set mastodon to send notifications. It works on desktop (Linux and Macos) but not on lineageos. Why is this?

J'ai finalement trouvé pourquoi mes tentatives d'installation de #lineageos ne pouvait pas fonctionner: C'est finalement #motorola qui décide les appareils qui peuvent déverrouiller le bootloader.

Et c'est une liste vraiment moche. Je vous fait le copié collé ici:

Today I Installed #GrapheneOS on a #Pixel 10a, which went fine. But transferring apps, files and settings from my old #LineageOS phone isn't happy.

I can't back up with #SeedVault on the old phone, and restore that backup on the new, which is mildly infuriating - either using my #NextCloud or a USB pendrive.

I also can't manually transfer my Signal account across - the phones can't "find" each other even though they're right next to each other.
