QEMU: [PATCH] docs/devel: relax policy on AI-generated contributions

https://lists.nongnu.org/archive/html/qemu-devel/2026-05/msg07614.html

Until now QEMU's code provenance policy declined any contribution believed to include or derive from AI-generated content. A blanket ban was easy to maintain while LLM output was rarely usable on its own, but as the tools improved an absolute prohibition has become harder to justify.

This has been brewing for awhile at work but finally the announcement is public. Previously to join in the collaborative engineering at #linaro you started with a discussion about membership costs and engineering commitment. The new #corecollective removes the financial barrier to entry so more people can be involved in working out what is needed before working out how to fund that work: https://www.linaro.org/news/linaro-addresses-the-demands-of-the-next-era-of-ai-and-compute-with-new-model-and-brings-open-collaboration-to-all/

Linaro Transfers Kernel Building and Testing Tools to the KernelCI Project

We are pleased to announce that Linaro has transferred ownership of three key open-source projects: Tuxmake, TuxRun, and TuxLava to the KernelCI project, hosted by The Linux Foundation.

For Linaro, this transition allows us to share the maintenance responsibility with a wider community while continuing to contribute as co-maintainers.
