My friends and I growing up would suck the nectar out of #lilacs. They were delicious and edible! (But save some for the bees.)

The old perennial patch of #BeeBalm by the kitchen door is edible and medicinal too, so the homestead kitchen stays fragrant with one bloom or another from May right through August."

The tiny white lilacs that we bought for Mom 2 Mother’s Days ago are finally in *full bloom*. Sorry she is not here to see them, but am sure she is seeing things far more beautiful in heaven.
