I had a terrrrrible day today at work. People not showing up for class, angry colleagues, lots of confusion.

I'm so so *SO* ready for this semester to be over. I need to just get away from teaching for a while.

When I came home, I got home I forced myself to escape through my art and make something pretty. And this is what I ended up with.

It's my latest phone wallpaper, featuring a Lilac-breasted Roller, native to the southern and eastern parts of Africa. I'd seen a pic of them before, but I though the colors had been photoshopped. Surely a bird couldn't be *that* colorful!?! But I was wrong--they *ARE* that colorful!

I'm going to make it a greeting card eventually.
