I found two of these at a flea market, covered in a blotchy coat of opaque pasty residue - perhaps a varnish gone horribly wrong. I could tell it was wood by looking inside. I stripped the outside, sanded smooth and used a wood bleach to lighten it a bit, then burned and finished with danish oil. #LichtenbergFigures #Woodworking #Art

I found a rusty brush axe head at the bottom of a box of metal parts in the basement of a second hand shop. After refinishing I learned it was a Collins blade, a company with a long history of creating strong tools for serious work. The handle is hictory adorned with #FractalBurns and finished with linseed oil. A friend of mine gave it to his father who used to work for Collins. #Woodworking #Art #LichtenbergFigures

I found this wooden serving bowl for free on the curb near my house. It was painted baby blue and had numerous scrapes from the sidewalk. I sanded, then added a #FractalBurn down the side, finished with beeswax and mineral oil. #Woodworking #LichtenbergFigures #Art
