On May 5th the Netherlands celebrate Liberation Day. The action coalition All Anti Fascists say there is nothing to celebrate, because #fascism is still here and rising. Therefore they organize that day a demonstration against fascism in #Utrecht. To finance this we started a campaign via Firestarter and we ask every anti-fascist to donate!

The unseen cost of tariffs: Trade policy uncertainty. It’s not surprising that the dozens of changes to US tariffs pushed up policy uncertainty to an all-time high in 2025. Why does this matter though? It undermines long-term business planning and investment in the US.   What’s also sky high? Tariff-related litigation. On February 20, the Supreme Court made a landmark ruling against tariffs. Before and after this ruling, more than 2,000 importers filed a suit to claw back a refund for more than $160 billion in tariffs paid to the government. Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the manufacturing boom that was promised…it didn’t eventuate. The data shows manufacturing jobs continued declining in 2025, with manufacturers pointing the finger at tariff-induced cost pressures and economic uncertainty. Durch die oben beschriebene Konstruktion werden die Kosten kurzfristig gedämpft, aber langfristig hochgehalten.
Klingt erstmal gut, aber lässt die akute Rohöl-Verknappung auch weniger dramatisch und eine Lösung weniger dringlich erscheinen.

In Kombination mit der Erwartung eines #TACO, schätzt man die Risiken wohl als beherrschbar ein, wodurch ein Signal der Finanzmärkte an #Trump fehlt. Der DAX ist zB. weniger gefallen, als bei Trumps #LiberationDay.

Das dürfte die Eskalationsgefahr steigern.
