So, the #QueerLiberationLibrary is looking for more donations. They [s]buy[/s] lease #LGBTQIA books through #Libby so people can obtain them where their communities won't offer them. It's a good service. I've already donated what I can, and they still need thousands of dollars, so I'm plugging there here.

Pride 2026 with Queer Liberation Library!

smut with a side of theory

Queer Liberation Library

I finished both my current #audiobook ('Faithbreaker' by Hannah Kaner) and #ebook ('City of Bones' by Martha Wells) today and now I feel empty and lost. I think I'll go to bed without a new audio tonight.

I started tracking this on #OpenLibrary, by the way, but since my #Libby reading and listening history was lost when I switched phones earlier this year and everything I tracked on #bookwyrm was lost with the death of #bookcrastinating, my profile is still pretty empty. https://openlibrary.org/people/lilithelina4764

Open Library is an open, editable library catalog, building towards a web page for every book ever published. Read, borrow, and discover more than 3M books for free.

Well, I learned yesterday that #libby is pretty careful with user data and doesn't save it anywhere in a cloud, or even via the library it's connected with. What I'm saying is - I lost a lot of reading and listening data when I switched phones earlier this year. 😭
A lot of said data I manually entered on @bookrastinating, the #bookwyrm instance I used, but I don't have much hope that that is coming back up again.
The #koreader statstics are nice, but not really helpful for imports to #openlibrary or #bookwyrm. I guess I would have to combine them with my #calibre library for more information on the books themselves. Still, it's nice to have the data.
Next up: comparison of #libby and #goodreads exports to see how to adjust the first to look like the latter.

It's been a solid bit since I picked up my paint brushes. Lately, the last couple of weeks all I've wanted to do is read, and mostly the #DungeonCrawlerCarl series. In the last few weeks I've finished books 2-6 and am currently in the middle of book 7.

Thank goodness for #Libby and my #PublicLibrary

OK, if I want to import my reading statistics to #OpenLibrary, I need a CSV file in the #Goodreads export format. I don't have a Goodreads account, so can anyone tell me what an exported file from there looks like? I'm sure I'll be able to go from my #Libby and maybe #KOReader exports to that format (after all, ETL is a big part or my job), if only I knew what it's supposed to be.

PS: yes, since I'm not over the @bookrastinating catastrophe, I'm trying something other than #bookwyrm for now.

I realised that #koreader actually has pretty neat reading statistics, which I can easily back up to my mailbox cloud using #webdav. I now have an (almost empty) #sqlite database which I haven't looked at yet, but it made me wonder if I could also read books from my #library I borrowed via #libby in KOReader instead. Well, the answer seems to be yes, with an ACSM plugin!
Today I finished reading 'The Thursday Murder Club' on #Libby and I still can't put any of my latest reading history on #bookcrastinating because it's still dead. 😫
Now, book number 2 in the TMC series by Richard Osman comes with a four week wait at my library, so what to read next? I didn't really feel like starting something new, then my open browser tabs reminded me that 'Platform Decay' by Martha Wells came out and I still have to buy that.
Looking at my Libby holds and I have like 40 suspended holds. I forgot why I placed more than half of those on hold! I am wishing Libby would let us attach private notes to books. I read a book twice, loved it both times, but I forgot I read it the first time. I have an offline text file of titles I want to place on hold and I could keep notes in that but still, private notes in/on Libby or even Hoopla would be amazing! #Hoopla #HooplaDigital #Libby #LibbyApp
