Having a chill Sunday with the dog gently snoring beside me and a truly fascinating memoir. Christopher Isherwood in the 1970s remembering his life 1929-1939. From living next door to Dr Hirschfield's clinic in Berlin and having lunch there every day for a couple of months, to his German boyfriend being denied entry to the UK when immigration clocked their relationship, there is so much in here that didn't make it into his fiction (stuff that would have outed him).
