Well after a long weekend at #LFNW and Seattle, all of the penguins have been disbursed. I was proud of myself. Then at work I put my hand in my pocket and one manage to come back home with me. It's now on my monitor looking over me.

Oh also got a mousepad. Geeze my desk is a mess.

Thanks to everyone to came to chat and support the computer upcycle project over at #lfnw this weekend.

Some of you donated your old computers too. I love getting donations like this old MacBook pro from nerds like you all.

8 gigs of ram and 500gig SSD is def not the standard specs lol

#linux #nixbook loves it though!

Had such an awesome time at LinuxFest Northwest!! There are only a few places I can say I feel truly among my own people, and this is one of them.

Already looking forward to next year, with motivation to register as a speaker.

Ice cream selfie at Sirena Gelato, Bellingham. I got the affogato, which is espresso poured over two scoops of Gelato. For the Gelato flavors, I chose Pandan and Dutch Chocolate. πŸ¦πŸ˜‹πŸ€³

... While we were waiting for the wrecker to show up, a couple of guys walked over to see what's going on. Turns out they were driving an Ioniq 6 EV with *exact same* problem. After the wrecker helped us, it went off to help them.

This is too weird to just be coincidence. My favorite theory: an over-the-air update bricked Ioniqs.

I look forward to finding out Monday what happened. Until then, I'll wear this tin foil hat just to be safe.

I'm stuck in Bellingham, WA for the weekend, until the local Hyundai service department returns on Mon. The car is an Ioniq 5 EV. It was totally dead, wouldn't start. I assume the 12V battery (runs all electronics, separate from the high voltage drivetrain battery) died. The road service wrecker gave me a boost which allowed me to start the car and drive it to the dealer. I don't want to risk the drive home until it's checked out and deemed seaworthy.

But here is the weird part ... (1/2) #lfnw
