About us: We are covid cautious musicians living in Leeds and have been involved in DIY music for the last 20 years. We have played in several bands and have organised over 150 DIY shows so far. Live music was taken away from us when covid hit, and now protections have been scrapped and masking abandoned we are excluded from live shows, much like other indoor events and spaces. We miss live music and we miss community so we have decided that we should put on COVID safer shows ourselves! So here we are! In February 2025 we organised a very successful covid safer live show in Sheffield with covid safer events organisers Breathe Easy, with performances by 3 Yorkshire based punk bands. This was the first ever covid safer live music event in the UK and we are very much wanting to keep up the momentum! Our safety measures: At our shows we require and provide FFP2/3 masks to be worn at all times in the venue and attendees need to show a negative lateral flow test on the door. We encourage anyone with any symptoms of anything contagious to stay home. Those who cannot mask, I.e singers are tested with a plus life PCR and there is far UV on stage as well as a powerful HEPA air purifier. We aim to acquire more of these to be placed around venues. Those who cannot mask for health reasons are of course welcome, we would still require a negative lateral flow test for attendance if this was the case. PCR testing might also be able to be arranged with some advance planning. The number of tickets sold will always be well below venue capacity and we will always aim to find venues with outside areas, good ventilation, and level access. We have zero tolerance for those who refuse to mask at our events if they are able to do so. COVID is airborne and we take protecting our community very seriously. Masks will always be provided if needed. Our shows are a safe and inclusive space where misogyny, ableism, transphobia, racism, COVID denialism or any other bigotry will not be tolerated.
