Why The Epstein Economy Needs ...
I met an gen z who:
-Studies in vocational school in computer sciences. Developper track or helpdesk
-Gamer
-Has never build a PC
-Has never installed an OS
-In school HAVE to use Microsoft products for EVERYTHING!
-Is a really smart student
Is the schooling one reason why people don't yet use linux as much? Are some schools just Microsoft training centers?
@ryan another thought i had from https://openresearch.ocadu.ca/id/eprint/1399/1/Poremba_Critical_2007.pdf when it comes to #brinkGames it's best or maybe necessary for people to break rules by their own volition, in some ways these games can encourage that, but is it possible to make people break the rules or is that a paradox? Similarly when it comes to players taking #agency and making their own rules collaboratively, can you build that into the game or does it have to come entirely from the players? This comes back to a thing ive been thinking about of how do you 'teach' people to have agency, or is that an oxymoron? Perhaps a game could foster this by having rules don't allow continuation unless a player decides to take the agency for themselves? How could that be encouraged, and maybe could it be a way to break people out of the mindset of #learnedHelplessness ?
@AeonCypher @admin @john @ShredderFeeder
that's it:
they see corruption, money in politics, gerrymandering and disenfranchisement, liars who change positions and use waffle words, etc
then they do something inexplicable:
they give up. they accept
they imagine corporatist centrists dems as omnipotent aliens they can do nothing about
no, you spineless turds, you just show the fuck up in the primaries
your cynical weakness is a bigger problem than corruption
@CStamp @ZDL @mikelovesbikes @wendinoakland @todymotmot @profdc9 @GutterPoetry @zakalwe
you would think people would notice the extensive #psyop to convince the #left to not vote, via various methods: #learnedHelplessness, #toxicIdealism, premature empty cynical capitulation, "BoTh SiDeS tHe SaMe" and other endless bullshit, and understand that what they should do is #vote
Apparently they will only help once you are two or three weeks behind, so then your personal rental rating gets tarnished with a black mark - making it even harder to secure some accommodation.
This is why people like I don’t ask for help, & less likely to do so again in the future.
"Learned helplessness is a psychological state in which an individual, after repeated exposure to uncontrollable negative events, believes they are powerless to change their situation, even when opportunities to do so arise. ..."

Learned Helplessness
https://www.simplypsychology.org/learned-helplessness.html
Learned helplessness is a psychological phenomenon in which a person learns that they cannot avoid bad things happening in the future. This causes a person to stop trying to prevent them. Learned helplessness is often associated with depression.
it's a human #psychology hack dovetailing into a #political and #social play:
you beat someone on the street, they run away, they fight back
you lock someone in a cage and you beat them daily: they give up, they adopt #learnedhelplessness, and hew to the #abuser. simply to reduce their beatings
you can rule through #consent or you can rule through #fear
and people are giving up on consent as #plutocracy eats it away. perversely, many then flock to the monster killing them
