コンビニスイーツって罪深いですよね。手軽に美味しいものが食べられるのですが、食べなくても困るものではないし、むしろ食べないほうが身体にはいいという。でも食べることで束の間の幸せが得られるならそれでもいいじゃないか、といったところでしょうか。

先日、ローソンへ行った際に見つけて、そのときは買わなかったのですが、後日「何か甘いものが食べたいな」と思った時に思い出して購入してしまったのが「しっとりビスケットサンド クリーム」という商品です。

これは2枚の厚めでしっとりしたビスケットの間に、たっぷりとホイップクリームが挟まっている、ただそれだけの商品です。アメリカではアイスクリームサンドイッチという、ビスケットの間にアイスクリームを挟んだものが人気がありますが、これはアイスクリームではなく生クリームです。しかし、ビスケットの間にホイップクリームを決まった形に載せて、そのクリームを潰さずにまた上にビスケットを載せるというのは技術が要るものかもしれません。

実際、食べるときにも非常にデリケートで気を使う商品でした。ホイップクリームはとても軽いので、まともにビスケットの上から噛んでしまうと、ビスケットが割れずにそのままクリームを押しつぶしてしまい、周りから溢れ出してしまうことになります。意識的にビスケットを割るようにして食べないとうまく食べることができません。

しかし、ビスケットもクリームも甘すぎずさっぱりしていて、なかなか美味しいデザートでした。とてもシンプルな構成で、見た目からどんな味かある程度想像できてしまいますが、ビスケットにはほんのり塩味がついていて、ちょっと甘じょっぱいというのもいいのかもしれません。税込254円と聞くと結構いい値段のように感じますが、それでも専門店やカフェのケーキなどに比べたらはるかにお手軽なので、ついつい手が伸びてしまう絶妙な線なのかもしれません。
