In Australia the holiday season is the season to use petrol gardening equipment all day, every day. Pythons, lizards, frogs and insects are simply shredded and mulched alive.

Robotic lawn mowers and fossil fuel gardening tools are shredding wildlife

[P] There's only three kinds of people who mow/strim lawns: clinnically insane psychopaths; the blissfully empty-headed, who never have any thoughts about anything; and those who're forced to by the prior two types because otherwise they might lose their home and/or be hit with fines they can't afford.

I feel so bad for everyone who's the third type.

Restoring native grasslands

"In western Victoria's volcanic plains there's 0.5 per cent [of native grasslands] left...The picture across much of southern Australia is almost as bleak. Since European settlement, intensive grazing, agricultural practices and urbanisation have all conspired to obliterate native grasslands.Though now protected by environmental laws, conservationists say remnant grasslands are still being destroyed."
