Hit for six: it’s great to place my brand new textbook ‘A Historical Introduction to English Law: Genesis of the Common Law’ (https://www.cambridge.org/gb/academic/subjects/law/legal-history/historical-introduction-english-law-genesis-common-law?format=PB) with my other five solo authored books.
There’s more to come. Next, it’s time for a rethink…

A few weeks ago, I had the wonderful opportunity of talking about the art of the conference presentation for the Academic Skills Circle led by IILAH Uni Melbourne, the UNSW Critique Network, and the La Trobe Law and Humanities Network. I spoke about ways in which we might consider the presentation as a unique genre which offers us different ways of generating connection and translating our work.
The talk is available as a podcast here:

#introduction time: I’m a final year doctoral researcher at the Melbourne Law School, working at the intersections of #lawandhumanities.
My current project brings my work as an activist lawyer in conversation with my experience as a theatre practitioner. I explore the jurisprudential learnings offered by creative practices of dissent against the colonial sodomy law in India.
I’m also interested in the conduct of legal pedagogy, exploring how we might bring queer-feminist-anti racist perspectives to bear on core law subjects.
My first book, Love and Reparation, was published by Seagull Books and distributed by University of Chicago Press in 2021. It draws upon court transcripts, affidavits (real and imagined), archival research, and personal memoir to re-stage the Section 377 litigation in India.
I'm also a commissioning editor over at the Critical Legal Thinking blog. Feel free to pitch me your ideas!

Only watching #Andor now but wow that Episode 3 - so much going about policing, and order & the havoc & harm within communities under totalitarian regimes & the price of rebellion. So good!
