Die Donau atmet heute Nacht – davon bin ich überzeugt. Es ist 20:00 Uhr, minus ein Grad, und Passau liegt unter einer Milchdecke aus feuchtem Dampf. Die Straßenlaternen werfen gelbe Halos über den Asphalt, irgendwo klappert eine entfernte Straßenbahn über die Brücke. Ich stehe am südlichen Ufer, Stirnlampe schwach aufgedreht, mein Atem zieht kleine Wirbel in die Luft.
