Gunnar räumt es am Anfang der Folge schnell ein: Die #Lanparty Szene begriffe sich als weltoffen und inklusiv - wenn man denn die Einstiegshürde eines damals auch schon teuren, leistungsfähigen #gaming-pcs nehmen konnte.

Es ist damit eine dieser Subkulturen privilegierter junger Männer, die ihre selbsterklärte "Offenheit" niemals beweisen musste, da sie strukturell exklusiv war.

Ich bezeichne mich auch seit meiner Jugend als "Gamer" oder wenigstens gaming-affin, und war priviligiert...

@ItalianSkeletonGaming I feel like I tried something like that, but linux didn't like it at the time. I should revisit. WiC was always a staple at our #lanparty gatherings!

I am off to an old-school LAN Party today. Some friends/coworkers have been doing this yearly, and this year I got an invite. Should I bring Jolt cola?
