- "Esperanza" in #landskrona ; Built as an institute for the cultivation of medicinal herbs 1906. Architect Fredrik Sundbärg. The tower is actually a #watertower. #architecture

- Hilleshög's valleys, a popular hiking and recreation area north of the town. Landscape courtesy of the latest ice age.

- Eventually you always find yourself on a frigging golf course...
- The coastal meadows at Lundåkra bay, south of #landskrona . On the horizon the iconic twin silhouettes of the Barsebäck nuclear plant, closed since 2005. The Danish never understood why we built two atomic reactors in a metroplitan area with some 3-4 million people in it. A very valid point...

A fairly drab and useless day in #Landskrona - but then; what do I expect? :)

- Found an old red #Volvo #tractor at Lundåkra Marina. Sparked some joy.
- A happy face on a bridge rail. A forgotten baby's rattle I guess. Also sparked a moderate amount of joy
- Some plants I can't identify. Anyone? Look like some sort of cabbage. Don't think they are, but they have a cabbage-ish aura. #identify

I've seen it from the train a gazillion times so I thought I should check it out. Meet "Stubbamöllan", an old #windmill in Häljarp south of #Landskrona. It's old - from 1784.
In 1784 Gustav III was king of Sweden (you can see him photobombing the last pic).

It's easy to forget that #history is actually an endless string of pearls, one day at a time, and history is closer than you think; I've met a man who met a man who really met Gustav III. My (adoptive) dad's dad was born around 1890 and, as a toddler, he met a very, very old man in the small hamlet of Tombo. This man's mother had visited Stockholm whith the, at the time, newborn 'old' man and the King himself had smiled at the young mother and her baby. Or at least that's the story.

So... everything is so close, and the veils are so thin you can see right through them if you just close your eyes.
