SannaOinasWinter solstice and we modern Karelians crawl out of our electric light caves and head to see how suddenly the wind blows away the grayness and light begins to overcome the darkness.
This year, there is neither snow nor ice in #LakeSaimaa #finland. A single swan was flying over the lake, although they should have moved away already weeks ago.
I still hope for the snow or at least artificial nests for the breeding of rare Saimaa seal. Seal needs a snow cave to give birth for their baby safely.
