Each year, the Ladds 500 sees hundreds of riders circling the famed center of Ladd«s Addition in Southeast Portland. The goal is to reach 500 laps, but organizers say that»s not what attracts so many riders and spectators.
Went to the #ladds500 today and got me some 50 ish laps in, which is roughly 10 miles. For those who don't know, the Ladds 500 is a relay race around a traffic circle in SE #PDX. The number 500 is the number of laps around the circle to make 100 miles. The motto of the ride is "Let's do something stupid"
This year felt joyful with people on the sidelines handing out pancakes, ice cream, hot dogs, and other goodies to the riders.
Rode in and back from Beaverton for a grand total of 45 miles.
Today was the annual Ladds 500 which is an intentionally silly relay race of 100 miles around a single traffic circle in Portand, Oregon. Five laps equals one mile, thus the name #Ladds500. Someone gave me a free ice cream cone and another a #Palestine spoke card. So rad! I love Portland.
RESIST THROUGH JOY
Great day going in circles at Ladd's :)
