Canadian sleep researchers at the University of Montreal and MacEwan University surveyed 1082 college students and found an impressive link between nightmares and diet. Data gathered included dietary information, food intolerances, allergies, personality type, measures of sleep quality using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, and dreams using the Nightmare Disorder Index. The results. About a third of participants reported frequent nightmares, and women were more likely than men to experience poor sleep, remember dreams, and report food sensitivities. Forty percent of all surveyed reported that their diet affected their sleep quality. Sweet desserts were blamed by 31% while 22% blamed dairy. Healthy food intake avoiding late night ingestion was associated with better dream recall. The opposite: a diet of fatty, greasy, spicy foods and including late night gorging led to nightmares and negative dreams. Those with gastrointestinal issues such as gas, stomach cramps, or reflux as well as those with food allergies including lactose intolerance were more likely to suffer. So if you wake up certain a zombie is chasing you with a chainsaw, you might want to cut out that late night pizza, mac and cheese, or 7 layer chocolate cake. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2025/07/250701020653.htm https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/psychology/articles/10.3389/fpsyg.2025.1544475/full #dreams #nightmares #diet #dairy #desserts #lactoseintolerance".

Somalia's #camel milk revolution is improving #nutrition and creating #jobs https://apnews.com/article/somalia-camel-milk-beder-farm-4367420bb775be05d3348c31f5256a32
Somalia is seeing quiet agricultural revolution centered around camels. Demand for camel milk is growing, buoyed by a wave of local entrepreneurs who see untapped potential in a traditional resource. The country is home to over 7 million camels, more than any other country on Earth. But only a fraction of that milk has ever reached urban grocery shelves. Beder Camel Farm near Mogadishu is modernizing camel milk production with better feed, veterinary care, and milking practices. The farm now holds 40% of the market and employs nearly 200 staff. It also produces camel milk yogurt, which is rich in nutrients and caters to lactose-intolerant consumers.

As someone who is lactose intolerant and had a lot of cheese for dinner last night... Objectively observing the bubbling in my stomach during meditation this morning almost ended in disaster.

So I'm trying to get in the habit of using other social media more and posting rather than just lurking, so uh... people just post about their life, right? That's what normal people do? 🤪
Anyway, had a fun, unexpected trip to the ER last Saturday x3 was having stomach pain that, originally, I assumed was just stubborn bloating and gas from lactose ingestion that even my Lactaid pills couldn't handle. Stubbornly though it lasted from the real early AMs into the afternoon, and I started to get concerned and annoyed I couldn't sleep xD
So I went to Urgent Care, who suspected it could be something to do with my gallbladder and pointed me to the ER where I waited 3 hours in the waiting room and 3 hours in an exam room before FINALLY being free x3 long story short, was given a nasty mix of 3 liquid medications that coated my stomach and numbed it, and my throat and mouth with lidocaine (suuuuuch a weird feeling), and the pain subsided. They prescribed me new meds and diagnosed me with gastritis and a funny sounding disease called GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), and recommend for safety I follow up with my regular doctor to schedule an outpatient gallbladder ultrasound to save my wallet some pain.
...... Which I still haven't done yet >u>;; I-I swear I'm a functioning adult...
So yeah! Fun update and a peak into the life of a crinkly fox with tummy issues ouo

That milk definitely went bad. My lactose intolerant ass should not have drank that.
