A landmark study by the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa (SA) has found that the catastrophic floods which struck KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) province in April 2022 were significantly worsened by climate change.
The disaster killed 544 people, displaced tens of thousands, and caused widespread infrastructure damage, making it one of the country’s worst natural calamities in recent memory.
