Malaysia Public Transport#KTMKomuter will increase the #train frequency for the #TanjungMalim-#KLSentral route from one train per hour to one every 15 minutes, effective April 22
The #KlangValley Double-Tracking Project Phase 1 was completed on March 31, which now allows #trains to run every 15 minutes during the peak morning & evening hours

28 March is public holiday for #NuzulAlQuran in #Selangor & #KualaLumpur where the #train service is operating, so there may be passengers who thought that weekend timetable would apply
However, the service goes all the way to #PulauSebang in #Melaka, and it's NOT a public holiday in both #NegeriSembilan & Melaka
#FreeParking for 30 minutes will be offered at the #multilevel #carpark next to Klang’s KTM Komuter #station on Jalan Raya Timur from April 1
Earlier, free #parking was only available for 15 minutes
This is an effort to encourage motorists to use the parking facilities to drop off or pick up #passengers using the #railway station

RM257mil spent yearly on maintenance of KTMB assets
It costs RM114 million to maintain KTMBs rolling stock, such as passenger coaches, according to transport minister Loke Siew Fook.PETALING JAYA: Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) requires RM257 million annually for the maintenance of its railway assets, says transport minister Loke Siew Fook.Loke said it would cost RM114 million to maintain KTMBs rolling stock, such as passenger coaches, RM84 million for rail infrastructure, RM36 million for signalling and communications systems, and RM23 million for the electrification system.He said KTMB is in the midst of upgrading its electrification system in the Klang Valley to ensure they are in optimum condition and to prevent service disruptions.We expect the electrification system upgrade project to be completed in the third quarter of 2027, he said in a written parliamentary reply.Loke also said Prasarana Malaysia Bhd is working on overhauling every component of 50 trains on the Ampang LRT line.Set to be completed in the first quarter of 2028, this will cost an estimated RM190.4 million.For the Kajang MRT line, train wheel replacement work, valued at RM36.7 million, is expected to be completed in January 2025.He was responding to a query by Tan Kok Wai (PH-Cheras) on the annual maintenance costs of the various railway systems in the country.
There are plans to refurbish older #ElectricTrainService (#ETS) and #Komuter #trains, which will help increase capacity and frequency
There were some 18 old sets of ETS and Komuter trains and some are needing major overhauls before they could be put back into service
The Ministry of Transport (#MOT) decided to refurbish some of the older sets so that they could be reused

It used to take about 1⅔ hour to reach KL Sentral from Seremban and vice versa
The early morning express train service with limited stops take about 1⅓ hour
However, as of late, the train services had gone from bad to worse, with journey taking almost 2½ hours

A total of 28 #stations will be operating on a #24hour basis from 23 to 26 Jan, and 72 additional #trains allocated.

#Contractor #negligence has been identified as the main cause of the Dec 12 #crane #collapse next to the #Rawang #train #station.
The finding was contained in a report prepared by Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (#KTMB) and the Public Works Department (#JKR).
Although there were no injuries reported, the incident disrupted train services with delays of over two-hours on the day of the #incident.
