It’s dated 1941 so too early for the huge 1950s Cha-Cha-Cha dance craze

But maybe Krazy Kat’s creator George Herriman was hip to the Mambo precursor and that’s a reference?

Don’t see mention of him traveling to Cuba in Tisserand’s big Herriman biography

But he would have seen the hippest kids in Los Angeles where he lived
