Kookaburra Singing Lesson

Early one morning I heard some kookaburras singing close by and when I went outside to investigate, I found them perched on the telegraph poles across the road. It seems it was a kookaburra family as there were 5 of them and 2 were possibly juveniles who looked like they were trying to copy the adults, so I think it may have been an early morning singing lesson for the young ones!

Six months or so ago we were visited regularly by a couple of fledgling kookaburras. Haven't seen them a while but that's okay because we had a couple of fledgling butcher birds visit after that.

The butcher birds have moved on but these two appeared today. Old friends? They are only a couple of metres away and they can clearly see me through the glass but they don't seem to mind.

There's a fish tank right below them but if these are my old friends, they know there's no way in
