Konform Browser now comes with global translations and localization bundled. This means you can get UI in non-English languages out of the box without having to download language-pack addons.

sinceyouarrived.world/taken has been making rounds lately so I decided to put Konform-Browser through it.

This is a completely new profile with 2 changes I personally made

• tor sock5proxy to protect IP address (you could use a VPN as well ig)

• change the theme to light mode

Out of the 21 data points
Konform hides the following
timezone, gpu, screen resolution & bitrate, battery. the site correctly recognizes I am using firefox-based browser and linux = not specific enough but still a factor for fingerprinting.

Most other data points like time spent on the page, percentage of page scrolled, tab switches, mouse movement and clicks are not identifiers they are pretty useless in terms of fingerprinting. The page shows the theme, cookies and Do Not Track is enabled which are things that can be changed very easily...

Does this make the browser unique enough to track?
A: probably

Will anyone use all of this data points to stalk you around the web?
A: nah not really

Is konform safe and good enough?
A: YES

Also since I used a socks5 tor proxy the IP changes everytime. You can use port forwarding, split tunneling and other VPN mumbo jumbo for the same effect...

Brave was worse in some ways than konform as it exposes timezone, battery, GPU, screen info. Librewolf got pretty much the same results as konform but I didnt have to change the theme to light...

What to do now?
A: tor, mullvad...idk both of them can't be used in regular surfing of world wide web.

To install extrepo, enable Konform package repository and install Konform Browser on trixie:

Konform Browser 140.7.1.100 has been released. What's new since last week:

- Closed vector of identity leaks and fingerprinting from unique IDs sent in HTTP headers by addons. This is our fix for #mozilla 'wontfix' bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1405971.
- #konformbrowser is the only #firefox derivative which protects against this under defaults.
- New user pref `network.http.addonOriginBehavior` can be tweaked to further change behavior and work around any breaking addons.
- A future update might change default to 3 (random), which could make #browser choice less fingerprintable. Reports on if any networked addons break (or not) under different modes much welcome.

- Security hotfix from Firefox ESR 140.7.1

- The new onboarding screen can now show detailed information on exactly what changes each #privacy preset has on #browser settings so you can make educated choice.
- Would love user feedback on if you think any of the presets should be tweaked or anything that's missing
