Hida Beef is amazing, by the way. Their highest A5 beef wins way more competitions than Kobe Beef. I had Hida Beef in Hida, and Kobe Beef in Kobe, and IMO Hida wins by a lot. I had it in one of those butcher shops w/ a restaurant upstairs.

If you order a box of frozen Kobe beef croquettes from Asahiya, a family-run butcher shop in Takasago City in western Japan’s Hyogo Prefecture, it’ll take another 30 years before you receive your order.
